Spin inc, a (pendng)501c.3 corporation detroit community based program design to provide Djing and Music production for youth and adults ages 19-45. This program is created to uplift our community by giving youth a postitive creative musical outlet. The school is needed in the Detroit community because many children & teens are constantly surrounded by negative, provocative music. Research shows that music is beneficial for the mental development and it improves creativity. Music choice also perdict our personality and music training can signfically improve our motor and reasoning skills. One study shows that’s children who have 3 years of musical training perform better then those who didn’t have training. Children and teens also tested better in vocabulary, mathematics and non-verbal reasoning skills, which involve understanding and analyzing visual information. Http://spinuniversity.org

MBAD African Bead Museum, founded in 1985 by S. Jill Miller and Olayami Dabls, was incorporated in the State of Michigan in 1996 by Dabls, Sonja Lockhart, Chris Woodard, Frank Coston, Efe Bes and Larry Mitchell. In 1998, thanks to the generous heart of Mrs. Ardie Reddick, the now-home of the MBAD Bead Museum was humbly donated– a 17,500 sq. ft. building for Dabls to house his museum and exquisite artifacts. Not only is it a beautiful Museum, it is globally known for its outside art instillations and stage. Http://mbad.org
Midwest Ethnic Convention for Comics and Arts – MECCA, aka MECCAcon, is a large comic book and artist convention held annually in Detroit, MI. The primary reason M.E.C.C.A was established was to instill knowledge primarily in the younger art culture. It is my mission to make sure that children know that all “heroes” do not look the same, that many actually look just like THEM. Unlike many “comic cons”, we don’t just focus only on comic books. Art has several mediums, and we want to highlight them all. MECCAcon will highlight comics, science fiction, steampunk, fine art, music, graffiti, dj artists, handmade artisans, african belly dance, urban gardening, fashion, african martial arts, and more. Midwest Ethnic Convention for Comics and Arts – MECCA, or “MECCAcon”, is a division of Amonyet Enterprises. The organization was founded October 2013, by founder and CEO, Maia “CROWN” Williams. Http://MECCAcon.weebly.com
